Wow!
This is my first successful attempt at changing my template! I was inspired by Frugal Upstate last month as she encouraged the blogosphere to clean up our blogs (Yeah, I know I'm late. Better late than never.). There are still several things that I am not sure how to do, but, baby steps. Baby steps.

Congratulations on working on the blog. :) I like the magenta text really well, but the grey shows up rather institutional in my browser.
It's really easy to change colors in blogger. You could make this template any colors you want. At least, I did it all the time before I moved (everything is more complicated in Wordpress, but then I can do alot more.)
Well, anyway, you need to be happy with it. :)
Looking nice! The only things I would suggest are:
#1 either dropping down your title box or removing the Blogger Navbar (in which case you'd probably need to add a search function somewhere). Right now the top of your blog title is getting cut off in my browser. I found this:

She tells you how to remove it. I haven't tried it myself :)
#2-If you mess around in your template so that all of your links were in BOLD I think that the magental would be a bit easier to read-it's ok now, but it would be even clearer. Also changing the font might help that, I'm not sure. Again, it is readable now, I just think it would be more easily readible if it were darker.
